Florence Crittenton Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Specialist (FSS) to provide trauma-informed, family-centered services through our Medicaid-funded Home Support Services (HSS) program. This role focuses on strengthening caregivers, improving family functioning, and promoting safety and stability for children and youth in their homes and communities.
What You Will Do
- Deliver Medicaid Home Support Services primarily in homes, schools, and community settings (minimum 75% community-based services).
- Support caregivers in developing practical behavior management, supervision, and coping strategies aligned with individualized treatment plans.
- Provide psychoeducation and skill-building interventions focused on emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving.
- Reinforce treatment goals and CASII/ECSII-identified priorities through strengths-based, skill-focused strategies.
- Identify and address non-adaptive family interaction patterns under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
- Maintain regular communication with the clinical team regarding progress, safety concerns, and service needs.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation in compliance with Medicaid, HIPAA, and agency standards.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and required professional trainings.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience working with children, youth, or families in behavioral health or community-based settings strongly preferred.
- Ability to implement skill-based and cognitive-behavioral interventions under clinical supervision (this is not a therapy position).
- Understanding of trauma-informed, family-centered approaches and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the community.
- Willingness to complete CPR, CPI, Medicaid compliance, and required program trainings (provided if not current).
