Florence Crittenton’s leadership team has been closely monitoring the evolving situation with COVID-19. It has brought uncertainty and disruption to the communities we serve, and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our clients and staff.
We remain in close and regular contact with local and federal health officials at the Health Department, Centers for Disease Control, as well as the World Health Organization. Though the situation around the virus remains fluid, our goal is to meet or exceed all provided guidelines.
The following protocols have been implemented across Florence Crittenton’s programs:
- Residential Programs: we are restricted all visitors and non-essential staff from entering the building. All staff and clients re-entering the building will have their temperature checked and sanitize hands before they enter the building. Any sick persons are not allowed to enter the building. Any staff or client in the building exhibiting onset of symptoms will be isolated per our standard protocols and healthcare professions contacted. We will be suspending any incoming admissions until April 6th. Clients in school will receive support for their schoolwork within our programs.
- Home Visiting: Effective immediately, in person home visits will be suspended until April 6th in effort to support the request for social distancing and slow down the impact of COVID-19. However, Home Visitors will keep in close contact with clients and offer support where needed. This may include virtual visits, phone calls, and drop off crafts/activities for them to do with their children.
- Childcare Facilities: Per guidelines received on 3/17, our childcare facilities will suspend operations for the time being. This decision will be re-evaluated every Friday until it is deemed safe to resume operations. During this time our childcare facilities will again be sanitized, and staff will be working on new trainings to enhance their services when services resume.
- Helena Parent Connections: In light of state and federal guidelines to exercise social distancing to help prevent the spread of the COVID -19 virus we will not be holding Helena Parent Connections gatherings in March.
- Outpatient Therapy: face-to-face outpatient therapies will not occur through April 6th. Services will be provided to outpatient clients through telehealth.
- Parenting Classes: community-based classes will temporarily be suspended through April 6th. New classes are set to begin in April and that decision will be assessed again on April 6th.
Providing services in a creative manner that allows us to still maintain connection and support to our clients is our #1 priority. We are taking every precaution and effort to do this, while also protecting our staff and doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

If you would like to still make an in-kind donation we ask you do not deliver items if you or anyone in your home or sick.
