New Kitchens Donated to Recovery Home

Florence Crittenton is delighted to announce that we have received full kitchen remodels in our Recovery Home.  This incredible donation from Lowe’s, Silver City Stone and Power Townsend means that the women and children in our Recovery Home can have beautiful new kitchens to prepare meals for themselves and their children.

Florence Crittenton’s Recovery Home provides residential treatment for women struggling with substance use disorder.  What makes our program unique is that children live with their parents while they address their substance use challenges, enabling parenting skills to be learned and avoiding placement of children in foster care.  Since the program’s inception in 2018, 100% of the women receiving treatment have addressed their substance use and regained or retained custody of their children.  All our clients have received parenting education, mental health and addictions counseling and the children have all participated in high quality early childhood education.

Lowe’s Home Improvement, Silver City Stone and Power Townsend partnered together with Florence Crittenton to provide materials and labor to replace the two kitchens, which had not been updated since the facility was built over 30 years ago.

Florence Crittenton’s Development Director, Heather Greene said, “We are grateful to Lowe’s for selecting Florence Crittenton as Lowe’s Heroes Project this year.  Lowe’s of Helena, MT is donating all the cabinetry and installation, Silver City Stone of Helena has graciously donated the countertops and Power Townsend the installation hardware.  We at Florence Crittenton Home are deeply appreciative of the investment of time and resources to help the lives of the women and babies we serve build thriving and productive lives.  Thanks Lowe’s, Silver City Stone and Power Townsend – you are an important part of our community!”

Lowe’s Store Manager, Tom Smith said “Giving back to the community where we live and work is an integral part of who we are. Through charitable contributions, associate volunteerism and nonprofit partnerships, we have invested in the Helena community since we opened 12 years ago. When our people and our community are strong- so are we!”.

Shelley Harris Director of Sales and Business Development  at Silver City Stone said “Our team’s top three core values include a commitment to always be an asset to our community. It is truly an honor to participate in strengthening our community through supporting the work of Florence Crittenton”.
