  1. Direct Care Volunteers:  Evenings at Florence Crittenton Home, as in most homes, are the most hectic time of day.  Young moms are coming home from school or work.  Babies are waking up from nap time and being picked up from day care.  Dinner needs to be cooked and served.  Chores need to be completed.  Babies and toddlers need play time and reading time.  Then, of course, there is bath time and bed time.  Not to mention homework, phone calls, and recreational activities.  Our Direct Care staff works 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.  We try to schedule volunteers for every evening of the week, to just pitch in and help wherever necessary.  The job will be exciting, and rewarding, and different each time you come in.  We are seeking volunteers who can commit to work the same evening each week, during the same hours, so that staff can rely on their help, and can schedule shopping and recreation accordingly!
  1. Organizer:  Our Clinical Director needs help sorting and organizing her training materials library.  This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in clinical methodology, psychology, counseling, etc.  Or, if you are just really organized and like books… this one could be for you!  This position is available immediately, and will last as long as it takes to get the resource materials organized.
  1. Baby-sitters:  We always have a list of volunteers who are willing to be called for baby-sitting.  If you would like to receive calls when a young mom needs a sitter, please let us know.  You can say yes or no to any request, depending on your availability.
  1. Child Enrichment Center Volunteer:  We have openings for a volunteer in our in-house day care facility.  The Child Enrichment Center is a state-licensed day care facility.  We rely on volunteers to commit to a consistent schedule.  Call for current time-slot availability. We are most especially in need of someone on Tuesdays from noon until 2:30 pm.
  1. Window Cleaner:  Could you come in once a month and clean the insides of our windows?  We have no janitorial staff here at this home.  The girls are responsible for daily chores, and do a good job of cleaning the living areas.  Staff is responsible for cleaning our own offices (we’re not always so great at this task!).  But we have no one in charge of windows, and with small fingers running around and a house dog in residence, they can get a little “smeary.”
  1. Independent Life Skills Trainers:  We are always in need of someone to facilitate our Independent Life Skills Group that meets every Saturday afternoon for one hour.  If you have a skill that you can offer (preparing taxes, scrap-booking/baby-books, cooking, budgeting, car maintenance, etc.) please let us know!
  1. CPR Trainer:  We would love to offer a CPR training session to all our young moms.  If you are a certified CPR trainer, and think you could help us, please let us know!  We will schedule around your needs.
  1. Winter Grounds-Keeping:  We would love to have a volunteer come in on snowy mornings to shovel, plow, or snow-blow our parking lot.
