Child Enrichment Center

Florence Crittenton’s Center for Pregnant and Parenting Teens provides on-site child development in a childcare center licensed by the State of Montana for children up to the age of two.

Studies have long shown that infants of adolescent mothers have an increased incidence of low birth weight, prematurity, developmental disabilities and poorer developmental outcomes than the children of older mothers.

The environment of our Child Enrichment Center is extremely important.  The setting provides an opportunity for these little ones to receive the additional nurturing and stimulation that will help their cognitive and physical enrichment.

What makes our Center different is that each child has a primary staff caregiver who works intensively on building a close relationship with the child.  We then match hand picked volunteers to each child in order to build a close nurturing relationship, much like a grandparent might have.  Staff to baby ratio’s are very low insuring that each baby is given as much consistent love, attention and encouragement as possible during these crucial first few months of their lives.

Developmental milestones are monitored for each baby and additional work and encouragement will be given to the mom and baby to overcome any delays.  Dealing with any issues early as well as engaging the mom in working out a plan for her baby is vital in the emotional and physical well being of the child.
