Brittney Shirley – Development Department
I joined the FCHS Development team in 2013 as the Corporate & Grants Officer. I’m a fundraiser! I get to work with corporations regarding their support of FCHS through employee giving programs, corporate sponsorships and more. I also write grants and work with foundations across the country that support FCHS. I love my job because it suits my personality; I get to be a social butterfly and network with people, and I also get to be a geek and write behind a computer screen. Most importantly, I love my job because at the end of the day, no matter how the day went, I know that I am part of an organization that is making a difference in the lives of the families we serve.
I am passionate about the lives we are changing here at FCHS. I truly believe in the infinite potential of women, especially the young women we serve in our residential facility. They have shown me time and time again the power of the human spirit, and I am so grateful for that. It has been a humbling experience to bear witness to the changes that our clients are making in their own lives in order to not repeat the cycles of abuse and neglect that have permeated families for generations. The families FCHS serves through our community Outreach Center are all of us.
I love the fact that my job is to get out and talk to people about FHCS- not only “what” we do, but “why”. I believe it is imperative that we educate our community on the fact that we are ALL in this together…families are our future and we need to do everything we can to make sure that children are given the tools they need to thrive, and parents the tools they need to succeed.
