A study published by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, stated that an investment in a child between the ages of 0 to 5 can yield as much as a 16% return over the lifetime of that child. Some of this return is personal in the form of higher wages on the part of the child later in life… but as much as 12% can be public return on the dollar.

Healthy families are the roots of a healthy community.

There is no greater investment than in early childhood.  Imagine a society where healthy strong families thrived and were the norm?  A community where crime was minimal and our children and their children led productive, healthy, happy lives.

When you support a young parent you are investing in their child.  Those children in turn are less likely to be incarcerated, to become chemically dependent or to become teen parents themselves.

Positive early experiences are essential prerequisites for later success in school, the workplace, and the community. Services for young children who are at risk for developmental delays have been shown to positively impact outcomes across developmental domains, including health, language and communication, cognitive development, and social/emotional development.

Florence Crittenton is committed to providing services that address early intervention.  Our belief is that by meeting children’s needs, prenatally through early childhood we will see benefits to society including reduced economic burden through a decreased need for special education and healthcare interventions later in life.  We are building strong communities through healthy families.
