Annual Shamrock Luncheon March 17 th To Benefit the Florence Crittenton Onsite Nursery

The 41st Annual Shamrock Luncheon for Florence Crittenton Home and Services will be March 17, from 11:00 to 1:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1700 Missoula Avenue . The luncheon features homemade salads, breads, special music from Irish tenor, Bill Platenberg, First Lutheran Kindergarten class, and Anne Wolfinger, Celtic Harpist. For six years, American Federal Savings Bank has partnered with the Florence Crittenton Home and volunteered to organize the luncheon which benefits the Home's onsite nursery.

The nursery provides care for the infants and toddlers of the young mothers residing at the Florence Crittenton Home and past clients as well as children of teen families in the community. According to Barbara Burton, Director of Development, "Children of teen parents need extra love and attention and our nursery provides these precious little ones with the nurturing they need while their mothers attend school or learn job skills." The Nursery is supported by United Way , Childcare Partnership fees and Donations. "We must raise $25,000 each year over and above the money we receive from United Way and Childcare Partnership fees just to make ends meet. In addition, there are the extras such as age appropriate toys that are so important in stimulating growth," says Burton .

Tickets for the Luncheon can be purchased at the door and are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors. A raffle will also be held for a Bob Morgan Print, a table and a handmade quilt and can be purchased at American Federal Savings Bank.
