Florence Crittenton receives $10,000 grant from PPL Montana
Today Florence Crittenton was presented with a check for $10,000 from PPL Montana. The funds will go towards the budgeting and money management component of Crittetnon’s independent living skills training for the center’s teen moms.
Shelby Hart spent time showing the representatives from PPL her budgeting spreadsheet and talked about how the Center has helped her learn skills that will help her and her baby Aly lead successful and productive lives.
This grant will enable the girls to be taught more about keeping a checking account, budgeting for the future and the dangers of debt and credit cards.
Florence Crittenton assists around 40 young moms from across the state of Montana and farther afield each year. Their program has a strong emphasis on creating an indelible bond and attachment between moms and their babies, healing from the past and achieving personal and academic goals.Â
Equipping young parents with the skills to become self sufficient is a critical part of our program, said Barbara Burton, Executive Director. The Independent Living Training will provide moms like Shelby with information that can help her navigate life.
