Young Mothers Affected by Meth participate in Paint the State Contest

The young mothers at Florence Crittenton come from across the entire state of Montana and they want all parents, young or old, to know that parents are mirrors for their children. "If parents do meth, chances are their children are going to do meth," said Amy (name has been changed) while the mothers were discussing what type of art project to submit for The Montana Meth Project's Paint the State Contest. The contest will feature teenage artists from across the state, putting together Alan Nicholson and the Great Northern Town Center offered financial support for supplies as well as display space for the art project and Dan Nordhagan, Technical Director from Grandstreet is providing artistic support. "I am so impressed by the mothers' enthusiasm about this project. They've been there, they've seen it and they don't want their children to do the same," said Pam Ponich, Co-Interim Director and Clinical Director of Florence Crittenton. The art project, Little Eyes are Watching , will be unveiled on Monday, July 10 th near the Carousel in Helena and will be on display through the summer.
