About Us

Since 1896, the Florence Crittenton Home in Montana has maintained a strong tradition of caring for pregnant and parenting young women, serving over 15,000 women and children.
We specialize is therapeutic residential services for pregnant and parenting young women and their babies.  Many of the women we serve have experienced multiple personal challenges including substance abuse, depression, violence, truancy and runaway tendencies.  Our treatment approach is a relationship based, cognitive/behavioral approach with a particular emphasis on attachment and bonding issues, enabling healing to occur and healthy parenting techniques to be learnt.
We believe that the birth of a baby offers a unique opportunity for change and growth in the life of a teen mother and her extended family.  At Florence Crittenton, we support healthy change in a therapeutic environment where young pregnant and parenting teens can learn new behaviors that result in breaking cycles of past trauma.

Florence Crittenton has the following core beliefs:

  • All young parents deserve love and support
  • All babies deserve a caregiver who can nurture, love and care for them.
  • Every young person holds incredible potential.
  • We know that teenagers and young adults are most open to positive change when treated in an environment of dignity and respect.
  • Every effort should be made to preserve the integrity and health of the family.
